Heavy rain failed to dampen the spirits of buyers at the North and North-east of Scotland’s largest plant, machinery and equipment sale which attracted more than 2000 bidders, including a variety of buyers from across the UK, Ireland and Europe.

The latest sale of tractors and plant, light commercial vehicles and 4 x 4s, heavy commercials and trailers, caravans and containers attracted an entry of 3360 lots, with the team of 10 auctioneers achieving a clearance rate of 83%.

Top price of the day was £80,000 for a 2016 Caterpillar 320EL tracked digger followed by a 2005 Volvo A25D 6 x 6 dumper at £41,000, a Dooson DX140LC-3 tracked excavator at £38,500, a 2012 JCB JS160 wide spread at £36,500 and a Caterpillar 996H loading shovel at £33,000.

“It was good steady trade throughout the day with strong bidding by local buyers as well as online buyers, including bidders from Czecholswakia and Poland,” said TSA business development manager, Neil Simpson.

In the heavy commercials section a 2011 Scania R560 Topline 6 x 2 Tag led the way achieving £33,200 followed by two Renualt Tippers achieving £18,600 and £14,000  with 77% of entries being sold.

In the light commercials &and  4x4’s, a 2010 Range Rover Sport TD V6 Auto sold for £10,900 and a 2014 Ford Transit350L3 H2 125PS van made £7600.

Trailers and caravan s were also selling well with a 2010 King GTS low loader reaching £13,500. A 2008 Noteboom OSD 48 trailer realised £9800 and two Elddis caravans reached £4500 and £5200.
