Vehicles, machinery and implements in strong demand at Thainstone

ANM Group launched its 2015 sales programme with a strong demand shown in all sections at its first Saturday Sale of the year.
Joint organisers Thainstone Specialist Auctions and Aberdeen & Northern Marts brushed away any sign of the ‘January blues’ as their auctioneering teams expertly handled the 2,500 lots of implements, tools, machinery, tractors and commercial vehicles entered for the sale.
The highest price on the day was £58,000, taken for a Volvo Articulated Loading Shovel. However all categories sold well with a DAF Johnson Road Sweeper Body bringing in £29,500 in heavy commercials; and a Ford Transit Double Cab Tipper selling for £7,800 in the light commercials and 4x4s section.
The sale of farm-consigned machinery and implements was also impressive with a Kverneland 5 Furrow Reversible Plough sold for £12,200; a McConnel SR620 Batwing Mower going for £5,300; and a Vaderstad 620 Cambridge Roller making £4,400.
Other sales included a Deutz Agrotron Four Wheel Drive Tractor which made £11,600; a Hanix 1.5t Mini Excavator which realised £6,700; and a Fordson Super Major Tractor which sold for £1,600.
John Roy, Vehicle and Machinery Sales Manager at ANM, said: “Our first sale of 2015 was very successful for all parties involved. In addition to the buyers here at Thainstone, our online iBidder service ensured buyers from all over the world did not miss out on the large array of items on sale.”
ANM Group hosts eight machinery and implement sales at its Thainstone Centre throughout the calendar year with the next one taking place on the 7th March. Following the large range of items put forward for the first sale of 2015 from farms, trade companies and the general public, consigners are encouraged to get their entries in early for the March sale.
